1. K1 visa – Fiancé/e of U.S. Citizen

For this visa the American citizen fiance/e living in the U.S. should file a petition with the U.S. Bureau of citizenship & Immigration Services by using form I-129F on behalf of his / her fiance living in India.

 Upon approval, intimation to this effect will be received by the Embassy / Consulate in India, who in turn will issue a letter to the "fiance living in India, instructing him/her to appear for visa interview.

The applicant appearing for the visa interview in India must proceed (With the following documents:

Additional Documents

(1) A Valid Passport in original.

(2) Two sets of DS-156 (nonimmigrant visa application) forms

(3) One completed of DS-156K, (supplemental form for nonimmigrant fiance visa). Do not sign DS-156K supplemental form until instructed by Consular Officer.

(4) Two photos (two inches / 50 X 50 mm square, showing full face, against a light background).

(5) Evidence of relationship showing that the applicant has met the fiance (e) and proof of a valid engagement such as letters, e-mails, phone bills, photographs or any other evidence of relationship.

(6) Legal Termination Proof of the previous marriage, death certificate of spouse, or decree of divorce or annulment (if applicable).

(7) Statement showing the intent to enter into a valid marriage with the fiance/e within 90 days of the admission into US. Do not sign this statement until instructed by Consular Officer.

(8) A demand draft for the Visa Application fee made out to "American Consulate / Embassy" as the case may be, and drawn on a nationalized or foreign bank with a branch in the city where appearing for the interview. (For visa fee refer earlier).
