Visa fees

Non Immigrant Visa fees structure is follows:
The application fee has to be paid at any of the HDFC bank branch as per the list below prior to confirming a visa interview appointment online or at any US Visa Application Centre. A fee receipt with a unique serial number will be issued to the applicant by the bank.

The applicant is advised to carry a photocopy of the 1st page of the passport while going to the HDFC Bank for making payment.

Note: In case the applicant being an Indian citizen and residing in the US, he / she need to fax a copy of his/her passport's data page to the person in India who is assisting the applicant in obtaining a Visa Fee Receipt from HDFC Bank. The assisting person in India will submit the fax to the HDFC Bank in order to get a fee receipt issued. The fees payable per passport is as follows:

1. Applicants applying directly to the Embassy / consulate
Visa Application Fee: US$ 100.00
T.T. Service charges: Rs. 441.00

2. Applicants applying through VFS Centers
Visa Application Fee: US $ 100.00
VFS Service charges : Rs. 310.00
Blanket L-1 Visa fee : US $ 500 (only applicable to Blanket L-1 principal applicants, not dependents)

Note:
Visa Application Fee:

1. Consular Exchange Rate w.ef. November 13, 2006 is Rs. 46.00 to the dollar. (Please see Annexure-B Sf. No.8)

2. U.S. Government has eliminated the US$ 50 reciprocal issuance fee for all nonimmigrant visa for Indian citizens w.ef. November 9, 2006 (Please see Annexure-B S1. No.9).

3. Visa fees is payable in cash or by DD/HDFC Bank cheque favoring "US Embassy - Visa Fees".

4. The Visa Fee Receipt must be used to schedule an appointment within one year from date of issue.

5. The receipt is deemed as utilized once the interview has taken place, and cannot be used to make a subsequent appointment.

6. The fee receipt gets activated 2 working days from date of issue. 00 not attempt to take an appointment till then.

7. Before an applicant can book a visa interview appointment online, or at any U.s. Visa Application Center, he must go to a designated branch of the HDFC Bank and pay the Visa Application Fee and VFS Service Charge.

8. While going to HDFC Bank, applicant must carry his passport in original or a photocopy of the 1st page of the applicant's passport if fee is deposited by a third person.

9. If the applicant is an Indian Citizen resident in the U.s., to obtain a Visa Fee Receipt from HDFC Bank, he must fax a copy of his passport's 1st page to the person assisting him in India. That person will have to submit the fax & HDFC Bank in order to get a fee receipt issued.

Common points

1. The visa office does not accept demand drafts drawn on cooperative banks.

2. The applicant has to write his/her name and passport number on the back side of the demand draft.

3. The above fees are not refundable

4. In case the application is made through VFS services, the VFS service charges are payable in cash or by demand draft favoring "HDFC Bank a/c VFS".

5. In case the application is made through IT services the IT service charges are payable by demand draft favoring "TT. Services".
