Types of H Visas
The following types of H category Visa can be issued to the applicant from India. All applicants for such visas must have a petition approved by the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) before applying for a visa.

A petition is the process by which the Department of Homeland Security(DHS) determines whether the basic qualifications for a particular visa are met by the applicant. It may be noted here that petition under this category can not be filed with the Embassy in India; they must be filed in the U.S. by the employer.
