Who can apply?
This visa is for an Indian media representative who wants to go to the U.S. to work on behalf of a foreign media organization or a tourist bureau of Indian government.

The spouse or children of a media representative are also entitled to accompany or join the holder of an I Visa. They should also apply for an I Visa.

Conditions
Applicant must be a genuine representative of an Indian press, radio, film or other information medium having its home office in India or a duly accredited representative of a tourist bureau operated by Indian government.

Applicant's principal purpose of trip to the U.S. should be as a media representative

Applicant should depart at the end of his/her authorized stay in the U.S.

Principle Applicant
All documents listed under 'Documents Common to all Non­immigrant Categories' earlier.

Proof that the applicant is a genuine representative of an Indian press, radio, film or other information medium that has its home office in India or a duly accredited representative of a tourist bureau operated by Indian government.

Proof of the work that the applicant will be doing in the U.S.


Spouse/Children

All documents listed under 'Documents Common to all Non­immigrant Categories' earlier.

If visa is applied together with the principle applicant
- Original marriage registration certificate
- Original birth certificate for each child.

If visa is applied for your separately

- All documents required for the I Visa for a spouse or child.
- Proof that the applicant's spouse is a genuine representative of an Indian, press, radio, film or other information medium that has its home office in India or a duly accredited representative of a tourist bureau operated by Indian government
- Proof of the work that the applicant's spouse is doing in the U.S.

Additional information

A Consular Officer relies mainly on the oral visa interview to determine eligibility for a visa.

If applicant wants his spouse / child to travel to the U.S. with him, apply for the visas at the same time. Book visa interview appointments for the same day and attend visa interview together.
