Dependents of Students/prospective Students
Dependents such as husband, wife or civil partners and any child/ children under 18 can accompany the applicant or can go to the UK during the duration of studies of the student (sponsor), and can stay with the student/ prospective student for as long as the student can support them and live without needing any help from public funds.
For an applicant to qualify for visa as the husband, wife or civil partner, he/she must be able to establish that:

The applicant is married to/is the civil partner of a student, prospective student, student nurse or postgraduate doctor/ dentist/ trainee general practitioner or a student with visa to resist an exam or write up a thesis.
. Both the partners live together as his or her spouse or civil partner during the applicant's stay.
. There is adequate accommodation and maintenance for the student, spouse or civil partner and any dependants, without recourse to public funds.

. The applicant should not take employment, except where the student or prospective student is or was granted leave of 12 months or more.
. The applicant will not remain in the UK beyond the leave granted to his spouse or civil partner.
For an applicant to qualify for visa as the child he must be able to establish that:
. The applicant is a child of a student, prospective student, student nurse or postgraduate doctor / dentist/ trainee general practitioner or a student with visa to re-sit an exam or write up a thesis.
. The applicant is under 18 years.
. The applicant is unmarried, has not formed an independent family unit and. is dependent on the parent student.
. The applicant can and will be maintained and accommodated adequately without recourse to public funds.

The applicant will not remain in the UK beyond the leave granted to the parent.
The applicant's application must be accompanied with relevant documents to establish above points along with the sponsor's passport showing personal details and original visa as a student.

Parents with Children at School
Applicant parent who intends to go to the UK with his child under
12, and who is at school in the UK may be granted visa provided:

(i) The parent meets the general visit requirement (condition of stay not exceeding 6 months is not applicable here).
(ii) The child is attending an independent fee paying day school and meets the requirements of student visa.
(iii) The child is under 12 years of age.
(iv) There is adequate maintenance and accommodation available to accommodate both the child and the parent.
(v) The parent is not seeking to make the UK their main home.
