Visitor Visa

Who can Apply?

Persons visiting Switzerland for the purpose of visiting some one who is close to them and residing in Switzerland.

No visa is required for:

Holders of a valid permanent residence permit of an EU or an EFTA country.

Holders of a US green card.

Holders of a valid permanent residence permit of Canada, Androrra, Monaco and San Marino for stay not exceeding 3 months

Documents Required

Completed application form (see Annexure SWISS-I).

Valid passport

Valid for at least 3 months after the visa expiry.

Having undamaged blank pages for visa sticker.

Previous passport (if any).

Photocopy of first and last page of the valid passport.

Latest passport size photo.

Evidence regarding payment of required visa fees.

Confirmed return air ticket/ confirmation of reservation (original & copy).

Invitation letter by the sponsor in Switzerland detailing

Name of the applicant.

Duration of the applicant's stay in Switzerland. Surety to bear the applicant's expenses during his stay in Switzerland.

Photocopy of the Passport in case the sponsor is a Swiss national.

Photocopy of Residence Permit in case the sponsor is not a Swiss national.

Copy of the invitation is directly faxed to the Swiss Embassy (where the applicant resides) by the sponsor.

In case the applicant has been refused visa by any Embassy in the past 5 years

Explanation in writing giving purpose of that trip and reason for refusal.

If employed

No Objection Certificate from the employer.

Pay slips.

Latest IT Return.

Original Bank Pass Book.

Bank Statements of the past 3 months.

If self employed

Company Registration Certificate.

Partnership Deed (if any).

Income Tax returns.

Bank Pass Book.

Bank Statement of the past 3 months.

Note: Applicant may be requested for additional documents and a personal interview.
