About Switzerland
Switzerland is a dream destination for people the world over, due to the diversity of its enchanting landscapes, from alpine peaks and glaciers to rolling green meadows and subtropical vegetation, from jingling streams to mirror-like lakes, from richly historic towns to exciting modern cities.

Like India, Switzerland is a federal state with 26 Cantons (States). Its a land locked country which is situated in the heart of Western Europe, bordered by Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein. The Alps occupy the central and southern regions of the country and the modest Jura Mountains straddle the border with France in the north-east. Over 60% of the country is mountainous and a quarter is covered by forests. Farming of cultivated land is intensive and cows graze the Alpine meadows as soon as the melting snow permits it.

Switzerland has a very advanced railway system. It links almost all cities at hourly or bi-hourly timings. As it is a small country, the trips generally do not take too much time. Jungfraujoch (3454 m) is the last stage of train journey, from Kleine Scheidegg, passing through nearly 10 Km of rocky tarrain.
