Film Shooting in Switzerland

Municipal authorities of different cities and cantons of Switzerland are competent to authorize and make necessary arrangements to shoot in cities and public places.

There might be different rules and regulations in different cities and cantons, therefore, producers should directly contact the municipal authorities where the producer intends to shoot to obtain authorization and make necessary arrangements for shooting.

Following details should be provided to the municipal authorities to obtain permission:

Number of persons in the shooting unit.

Date and time of shooting.

Parking area required.

Roads or streets required to be closed temporarily during the shoot.

Who can Apply?

Producer of the film should directly contact the Consulate General on behalf of the whole group and apply.

Documents Required

Request letter from the producer of the film on his business letterhead. Visa staff at times can request to produce the documents relating to the earlier work done by the producer, such as newspaper clippings, magazines etc. where the name of the producer appears.

Complete list of members of the shooting team with name, details and designation of each member.

ID-Card/s of first time travelers.

Previous visa Number or photocopy of the visa of those persons who have previously traveled on a group Visa.

Proof of sufficient funds to be shown by way of Foreign

Exchange endorsement on the producer's passport.

Travel Itinerary with

Exact date of arrival and departure from Switzerland.

Means of transport.

Points of entry and exit etc.

Signed declaration from the producer stating that it is his responsibility to produce the passports and boarding passes of the entire group to the Consulate General on return to India.

Family members travelling with the group should apply, as individuals, for tourist visa with the following documents:

Covering letter from the producer on his business letterhead.

If never traveled to any European country produce photocopy of :

Latest Income tax return.

Telephone bills.

Letter from the company, if employed.

School certificate of children, if accompanied.

Note: 1. The producer should make an advance payment of at least 50% of the entire shooting expenses likely to be incurred in Switzerland to the Swiss authorities in Switzerland.

2. The processing of the visas will start only upon receipt of such confirmation.
3. Stamped passports will be returned only on the next working day.
