Who can Apply?
Persons intending to visit South Africa for the purpose of promoting trade, commerce and industry between South African and Indian businesses. Directors with 25% or more share must apply for a work permit.
Documents Required
. Valid passport (with at least 6 months validity).
. Completed visa application form BI-84. See Annexure SA-I.
. Latest passport size photo (not older than 6 months).
. Covering letter from the applicant.
. Copy of travel itinerary.

. Proof of confirmed flight bookings.
. Proof of Foreign Exchange:­
Endorsement of Foreign Exchange on the passport or Photocopy of International Credit Card.
. Proof of confirmed hotel booking/ s:­
Fax to the embassy directly by hotel in South Africa with a copy to the applicant, or
Hotel voucher from recognized Travel Agent to be produced.
. Proof of funding of trip:
- Salary slip or bank statements.
. If employed:­
- No Objection Certificate" from the employer.
. Letter of Invitation by sponsoring company in South Africa to be faxed to the embassy with original to the applicant.
. Letter from the Indian company/employer detailing
The designation of the applicant.
Purpose and duration of the visit.
Business profile of the Indian Company.

. A Letter of recommendation from Export Promotion Council / Local Chamber of Commerce.
. Proof of registration:­
Company's Registration Certificate – Photocopy
. Import Export Code No. - Photocopy.
RBI Code Number (if any) - Photocopy.
. Income Tax Return (original & copy) in certain cases.
Notes:
1. Business visa is not issued for the purpose of day to day running/managing of a business in South Africa. For this purpose an applicant should apply in the work permit category. .
2. A South African visa does not demonstrate the duration of stay on the visa. The same is done at the time of entry into the country.
3. Applicant may be asked by the authorities to lodge a refundable deposit.
4. Visitors to South Africa are advised to travel with proper medical insurance, as medical treatment could be expensive in South Africa.
