Social Visitor seeking permission to deliver a child in Singapore

Who can Apply?
This visa is issued to a pregnant lady applicant who would like to visit Singapore for the purpose of delivering the child in Singapore with the condition that the newborn child will not claim Citizenship of Singapore.

Documents Required

Duly completed and signed application Form 14 (See Annexure Singapore-II) by each applicant.

Duly completed and signed Form V-39 A (LOI) (See Annexure Singapore-V) by each applicant including children.
1 passport size color photograph affixed on Form 14.

A valid passport of the applicant.

Photocopies of bio-data page, endorsement pages and last 3 pages of the applicant's passport.

Marriage certificate of the applicant - original with one copy. A letter from the applicant's gynaecologist, stating clearly the complications (if any) in the applicant's pregnancy and expected date of delivery.

Applicant must also obtain a letter from the Indian Embassy / High Commission in Singapore stating that the newborn child will not claim citizenship in Singapore and will follow the parent's nationality and an Indian passport will be issued to the newborn child.

Identity card of the applicant's sponsor.

Note: If the application gets approved by the Singaporean authorities, a security deposit for an amount between S$1000 to S$3000 may be required to be deposited by the local contact in Singapore or the visa applicant.

ICA will advise whether payment for the security deposit will be in the form of NETS or Cashier's Order or Banker's Gurantee. A duly completed Interbank Giro Form (See Annexure Singapore-VIII) is required to be submitted for refund purpose.

The security deposit will be refunded after it has been confirmed that both the mother and child have left Singapore and there is no breach of conditions as stated in the security bond. The processing time for refund is about 4 weeks.

To avoid any delay the visitor, after delivery, is advised to surrender the visa card to Immigration checkpoint clearing officer upon the final departure.
