Renewal of Residence Permit
A residence permit is granted for one year at a time. This permit must be renewed every year. Renewal is conditional on satisfactory progress in studies. Application for renewal must be made at the nearest police station in Norway along with the following documents:
. Duly filled in and signed application Form (GP-7123E) as per Annexure Norway-XI.
. Updated statement from the education institution on progress of the applicant's studies.
. Documentation showing how the stay is to be financed for the year being applied for.
. Documentation to the effect that the applicant has obtained accommodation.

. Copy of the loan application, if the studies are to be funded through the State Educational Loan Fund and copy of the last payment cheque received.
. Documentation showing that the applicant has been accepted for further studies or a letter of admission or invitation from an educational institution if the applicant has changed subject/ course or school/ college/ university.
. A study plan, if the applicant has not previously submitted the same, or if the previously submitted study plan does not cover the period being applied for, or if the applicant's study plan has been changed.
. If the applicant is applying for a part time-work permit too, the application form for a part time-work permit, GP-7115 B, and the form called "Offer of Employment" as per Annexure Norway-V should also be submitted.
Note: Some of the information provided by the applicant vide Form GP-7123E will be stored on computer and the applicant has a statutory right of inspection to know what information has been registered about the applicant.
