Visa System
Netherlands being one of the 15 countries forming the Schengen convention follows the same visa system as followed by any other Schengen State thus a person with valid Schengen Visa can enter Netherlands without a Netherlands visa.
The Embassy or Consulate of Netherlands issues mainly four types of visas from India.
Schengen Visa (short-stay) - valid in all Schengen Countries. . Netherlands Antilles.
Netherlands Aruba.
Long-Stay - visas valid for entry to Netherlands only.
In case an applicant is applying for a Schengen Visa at the Netherlands Embassy in India, he/ she should apply for the same only if Netherlands is the main destination of the applicant or stay of the applicant in other Schengen countries is same as in Netherlands. In any case all visas are either a Short-stay (Up to 90 days) or long-stay (more than 90 days).
