Information common to all applicants
Visa can be obtained from Malaysian Missions in india before traveling to Malaysia and the same must be used within its validity period (normally 3 months). However, for a stay permit, a pass for an approved period will be stamped in the passport at the point of entry.

Every visitor to Malaysia has to obtain a pass which is issued at the point of entry in Malaysia and their stay in Malaysia is decided by the pass issuing authority i.e. Immigration Authorities.

Application can be made online through I-Visa  System (for tourist visa from Chennai and New Delhi only).

I-Visa System?
Visa application can be submitted through internet.
For Single Entry Visit application only.
Application can be submitted only by those travel agencies who are registered with Immigration department of Malaysia.
Visa application can be made by inserting required information visa website.
Application status can also be known through the website at a later date.
Upon approval applicant will have to make the required payment at the consulate and get visa sticker pasted on his/her passport.

Other than applications for entry for the purpose of tourist*
Visits, all applications for other types of passes as mentioned below must be made in India before traveling to Malaysia. All applications must have sponsorship in Malaysia. The sponsors must agree to be sponsorship in Malaysia. The sponsors must agree to be responsible for the maintenance and repatriation of the visitors from Malaysia if it should become necessary.

Applicant’s own particular circumstances may be such that he/she should seek additional guidance with the embassy authorities.
Visa applications forms are available at the High commission at a price of Rs.15.00 each. The same can be further photocopied or printed from their website or from the CD attached.
Visa fee as indicated is liable to change without notice.
Visa fee should be paid through a Bank Draft in favour of “Malaysian High Commission” or “Office of Assistant High Commissioner” as the case may be and payable in the same state where applied. Applicant must write his passport number and name on the back side of the draft.
This facility is available at the following entry point. Kuoala Lumpur International Airport (Sarawak), Kota Kinabalu International Airport (Saban), Complex Sultan Abu Baker, Tanjung Kupang Johar (by surface from Singapore).
