Who can Apply?
This visa is issued to the prospective applicants, who are adults (18 years and above),who  would like to obtain such skills, technology or knowledge to which the applicants shall make use of in India after completion of the training in Japan and the same is not ordinarily available in India.

Conditions
1. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age and is expected make use of the technology, skills and / or knowledge obtained in Japan after returning back to India.
2. It must be impossible or difficult for the applicant to obtain the desired technology, skills and / or knowledge in India.
3. The proposed training should be conducted by an organization under the guidance of a full-time employee of that organization and the trainer should have at least 5 years of experience in the technology, skills and / or knowledge concerned.

4. In case where the training program scheduled includes on the – job training, following conditions should be fulfilled:
- All trainees must be provided with lodging facility.
- The training program must be fully insured.
- The No. of trainees joining the program should be in a ratio of 1:20 trainees or less to each full-time employee of the Japanese organization conducting the training.
- The Japanese organization should have an adviser assisting trainees during their stay in Japan.
- The Japanese organization must provide sufficient means to the participants like private insurance etc. (excluding the Workmen’s Accident Compensation Insurance) to cope-up with situations like death, accident or sickness of trainees during the training program.

- The safety and sanitation measures in respect to the training facilities should be secured in accordance with the provisions of Labor Safety and Sanitation Act of Japan.
Note:- These conditions are not applicable in cases where the applicant is invited by the national government or a local government or in cases where he or she falls under the cases designated by the Minister of Justice in the Official Gazette.
5. The applicant should be a full-time employee of one of the following organizations and sponsored by them for training:
- The national government, a local government or a public corporation.

- Joint ventures or affiliated companies of the accepting organization in Japan.
- Organizations which have business transactions with the accepting organization for at least 1 year or for at least 1 billion yen within 1 year.
Note: The above requirement is not applicable in cases where the applicant is accepted for training of the overseas staff who will be working at that organization’s foreign joint venture or local subsidiary, subject to the condition that the establishment of joint venture or subsidiary has been recognized by the competent authorities, or in cases where the applicant is invited by the national government or a local government or in cases where the applicant falls under the cases designated by the Minister of Justice in the Official Gazette.
6. The period of on-the-job training should be two thirds of the total training program, or less (in cases where there are two or more accepting organizations, the time spent in each training program separately should be added together).

7. The operator, the manager, the person guiding the training and the adviser of the Japanese organization conducting training should not have committed misconduct in the training of foreign nationals in the past 3 years.
8. In cases where an organization, (other than the Government of Japan or a local government) is mediating the training, the mediating organization concerned should not be a profit-making organization and it’s full-time employees must not have committed misconduct relating to the training of foreign national in the past 3 years.

Additional Documents Required
1. Training plan details of training, its necessity, the location of training center, duration and the conditions of stay.
2. Documents proving that the applicant intends to engage in a duty that requires the technique, skill and knowledge learned during the stay in Japan after returning home.
3. Diploma and documentation proving the professional career of the applicant.
4. Documents proving the professional career of the trainer about the concerned training.
5. Documents detailing the status of the Indian Company which is sponsoring the applicant.
6. Copies of company’s registration, profit and loss statement, full-time staff strength with list (of the company inviting the applicant) and a list of trainees attending the program.
Note:-  Applicant is not permitted to work during the entire stay in Japan.
Activities to learn and acquire technology, skills, or knowledge at public or private organizations in Japan (including not only training in Industrial techniques and skills but also administrative training in local governments and other public bodies and clerical training to acquire knowledge).
