Who can Apply?
This visa is issued to applicants wanting to visit Japan for the purpose of sightseeing; sport; convalescence; visits to relatives, friends, or acquaintances; amateur participation in athletic meeting or other contest; business trips (such as market surveys, business liaison, business talks, signing contracts, and after-sale service for machinery imported into Japan); friendship visits and attending conferences and seminars etc.

Additional Documents Required
1. Return ticket or written guarantee issued by Transport Company.
2. Documents showing proof of funds sufficient to defray all expenses incurred during the stay in Japan.
3. Guarantee letter/sponsorship letter from Japan in original (Fax of invitation not acceptable). See Annexure Japan-III for letter of guarantee.
4. If the guarantor is a Japanese:
a. Income Tax certificate of guarantor.
5. If the guarantor is an Indian:
a. Copy of the passport of the guarantor (with Japanese stamps and visa pages).
b. Alien Registration Card (both sides).

c. Income Tax certificate.
6. Applicant must provide original invitation letter from Japanese counterpart company/individual (see Annexure Japan-II)
7. Supporting documents of the applicant’s company such as:
a. Company’s registration certificate.
b. Balance sheet of the company.

c. Income Tax returns
d. Any other document which the applicant deems fit.
8. Hotel booking confirmation in Japan, in case the applicant is not staying with the guarantor.
9. Any other document which the applicant may deem fit.

Note:-
A temporary visitor may be requested to submit documents such as a letter giving the reason for the invitation etc.
