This visa is granted to applicants who intend going to Ireland to perform research work in some Irish college or organization. To apply under this category it IS important that the college/ organization in
Ireland where the applicant is going to perform his/her research work applies and obtain a work permit for the applicant.
Applicant must note that above mentioned application must be made prior to applying for a visa under this category. Application for Researchers Visa cannot be considered prior to obtaining a work permit. Upon receipt of Work Permit applicant should apply m India with the following documents.

Documents Required
Fully completed and signed Visa Application form (in duplicate). See Annexure Ireland-I
Two passport size photographs.
Passport, valid for (six) months.
Required visa fee.
All previous passports.
Enclose original and one photocopy of the following:
Work Permit (if offered a Paid research position in an Irish University).
Letter from the host college/organization in Ireland detailing the nature and duration of research programme/project and annual salary details.
Letter from the Institute /college in India with details of salary/grant payable.
Educational Qualifications (Not Mandatory)

If the applicant is applying to take part in a short-term programme, for which no salary will be paid to him / her.
Letter from the host college / organization ion Ireland detailing the nature and duration of research programme/project.
Evidence as to how the applicant will support himself for the duration of his stay in Ireland, including travel accommodation and living expenses.
Evidence of obligations to return back to India - letter from the applicant's employer/college giving details of employment/studies, confirming the research project to be carried out by the applicant in Ireland, and that the applicant will be returning back to work/study on completion of the research programme.
