Employment

Category Form Fee Validity
Long stay See Annexure Ireland-I
See Annexure Ireland-II
ε 50 2 years

Visa under this category can only be issued after receipt of a valid work permit from the employer in Ireland. The Irish employer can apply for a work permit under two categories.
1. Work Permits - issued by the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment to the employer. The Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment will grant the work permit only if the employer can demonstrate that every effort has been made to find a suitable EEA national to fill the post before applying for a work permit. Work permits are not transferable; they are valid for one year and are renewable annually. If an applicant applies under work permit scheme, he cannot apply for family members to join him until he remains in Ireland for a minimum period of one year and his work permit has been extended for a further period of one year.

2.Employment visas/ authorizations - these are issued on a fast-track basis to professionals with skills that are in high demand in Ireland. Currently professionals with skills under high demand are in the industry of health, construction and IT. People in these groups can apply direct to the Irish Embassy or Consulate, and are exempt from the normal work permit application procedures.
On receipt of the work permit from the employer, applicant must apply to the Irish Embassy or Consulate in India for an Employment Visa.
