Important for all student applicants
Student is granted a Study Visa on the basis that he/ she will attend school/ college to take part in a course which involves at least 15 hours of organised daytime tuition each week.
It will be necessary for every applicant to show evidence of his/her attendance record to the Garda National Immigration Bureau when seeking to have permission to remain in the State extended.

If satisfactory attendance rate at course is not shown, student will not be entitled to remain in the State.
If student intends staying in Ireland for more than 90 days, it is a requirement that he/ she register with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNEB) either at 13-14 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2, or the Immigration Officer in the area in which he/ she is residing.
Extensions of permission to remain in the State to pursue studies will only be granted if the Immigration Officer is satisfied with matters such as student's level of attendance at course, evidence of accommodation, finances and medical insurance.

Permission to remain in the State is usually not granted for a period of more than a total of 18 months unless the student is attending a full time course of at least one year's duration leading to qualifications recognized by the Minister for Education and Science.
Applicant must have an immediate access to at least E 7000. This is the estimate cost of living in Ireland for a student for one academic year.
Applicant must demonstrate that he or his sponsor has ready access to an amount of at least E 7000 for each subsequent year for studies, in addition to the course fees for each of those years.
