Who can apply?
Students going for long study program to France for duration which is more than 3 months can apply under this category.

Procedure
Get enrolled in French University/Accredited College.
Arrange for accommodation in campus or through host etc.
Arrange for funds to meet the expenses for fees etc.
Get a comprehensive health insurance plan which is valid for France.
Obtain police clearance certificate from your State of residence.
Pay required visa processing fees.
- Fees can only be paid by Credit Card or by French or
Australian scholarship (For Credit Card Payment Authorization Form, see Annexure France-V).
Completed application along with required documents are to be submitted in person or by mail at Consulate General de France, 31 Market Street, Sydney, NSW 2000.

Documents Required
Application form duly filled and signed. See Annexure France-II (For English translation of the application form, see Annexure France-III).
One passport photograph.
Original valid passport.
Proof of payment of visa fees. If payment is to be made by credit card then, attach the original 'Credit card payment authorization form1' along with the application form.
Enrolment certificate in French university or an accredited college - (original with one photocopy). Proof of accommodation arrangement - one photocopy.
Proof of funds - one photocopy

- Dependant students may present a financial undertaking (For Financial Undertaking Form, see Annexure France-VI) from the parents with proof of the parent's ability to meet their needs (professional advice from accountant, bank manager, financial adviser etc.) in original.
. Proof of comprehensive private health insurance - one photocopy.
- University students aged under 28 may join French public health fund for students at an affordable annual cost of € 180 (For Health Insurance Coverage Form, see Annexure France-VII).
. Police clearance certificate from the country of residence of more than one year over the last ten years - Original

If the time required for obtaining the clearance exceeds two months, produce the evidence of applying. Also submit a statutory declaration stating the conviction status of the applicant (if any) and the undertaking to provide the police clearance certificate when received.

.Large self-addressed envelope Express Post or Registered Post.
Travel itinerary / Air Ticket - one photocopy.
Note: If the applicant desires French authorities to return the originals, then additional copy of all the originals should be provided while applying. It is advisable to apply well in time i.e. at least three months before traveling date. Visa processing fees paid is non-refundable.
