Who can apply?
Researchers going to France to undertake research work at a French University or scientific organization.

Procedure
Completed application along with the required documents should be submitted in person only after obtaining. prior appointment at Consulate General de France, 31 Market Street, Sydney, NSW 2000. Applicants who are unable to appear in person, should send their application with documents and a pre-paid self-addressed registered envelope.
Documents Required
Application form duly filled and signed. See Annexure France-II. (For English translation of the application see Annexure France-III).
Passport photograph pasted on the form.
1 check-list completed. See Annexure France-IV.

Original valid passport (with one photocopy).
Signed contract of French University or scientific organization duly signed by the president or managing director and further stamped by the local "Prefecture" in France (with one photocopy).
Travel itinerary/Air ticket - Two photocopies.
Police clearance certificate from the country of residence of more than one year over the last ten years (with one photocopy).
If the time required for obtaining the clearance exceeds two months, produce the evidence of applying. Also submit a statutory declaration stating the conviction status of the applicant (if any) and the undertaking to provide the police clearance certificate when received (with one photocopy).

For spouse and dependants
Application form duly filled and signed. See Annexure France-II. (For English translation of the application see Annexure France-III).

Passport photograph pasted on the form.
Original valid passport.
Marriage certificate (with one photocopy).
Police clearance certificate from the country of residence of more than one year over the last ten years (with one photocopy).
If the time required for obtaining the clearance exceeds two months, produce the evidence of applying. Also submit a statutory declaration stating the conviction status of the applicant (if any) and the undertaking to provide the police clearance certificate when received (with one photocopy).
Birth certificate.
Travel itinerary/Air ticket - Two photocopies.

Note: The above documents are required to be furnished by each applicant.
