Who can apply?
Applicants intending to stay in France for more than 3 months.

Procedure
Completed application along with the required documents should be submitted under person by the applicant at Consulate General de France, 31 Market Street, Sydney, NSW 2000. Applicants who are unable to appear in person, should send their application with documents, motivation letter and a pre-paid self addressed registered envelope. All children holding individual passport should also apply along with the applicant.

Documents Required
Four application forms duly filled and signed. See Annexure France II. (For English translation of the application form, see Annexure France-III).
5 passport photographs pasted on the forms.
1 check-list completed. See Annexure France IV.
Original valid passport (with three photocopies).
Police clearance certificate from the country of residence of more than one year over the last ten years (with three photocopies).

If the time required for obtaining the clearance exceeds two months, produce the evidence of applying. Also submit a statutory declaration stating the conviction status of the applicant (if any) and the undertaking to provide the police clearance certificate when received (with three photocopies). Proof of funds to cover the applicant's expenses during the stay in France. Such as letter from the bank, investor, solicitor or accountant, updated bank pass book etc. showing figures and translated in French (with three photocopies).
Applicant's bank/s statement/s (with three photocopies). If applicant owns a property in France
- Proof of ownership of any property along with copy of lease if rented (with three photocopies).
.If the applicant has a host in France

- A letter from the host together with copy of host's identification (such as passport, driving license etc.) (With three photocopies).
- Statutory declaration (duly legalized by a Judge) stating that the applicant is not going to work during the applicant's entire stay period in France (with three photocopies).
Applicant's proof of medical covering the entire stay in France (with three photocopies).
Travel itinerary or air ticket (with four photocopies).
If minors accompanying the applicant
Birth certificate of each such minor (with three photocopies).
French school enrolment certificate/letter, in case the accompanying child is less than 16 years of age (with three photocopies).
