Mumbai applicants
Applicants submitting their application at the consulate may collect their passport from France Visa Centre delivery counters between 1700-1800 hrs. There will be a service charge of Rs. 2251- per applicant over and above the visa fee paid earlier at the consulate.
The temporary residence permit is valid for a period of one year and can be renewed indefinitely for successive periods of one year upon expiration. After three years, the holder may, however, apply for a permanent residence card valid for a period of ten years. The grant of this permanent residence card, while discretionary, will normally be granted in the case of highly-paid or skilled personnel.
With effect from Sept. 2006, all applicants except first time traveler to a Schengen Country, while applying for a French visa will have to fill VISA INSURANCE UNDERTAKING Form in addition to the visa application form. See Annexure France - XI for Visa Insurance Undertaking Form.
