For Delhi Applicants
From April 2005, short stay visa applicants should submit their applications through the visa facilitation Service- VFS. This rule is applicable to individuals, companies and travel agents.
Appointments can be obtained, either online on www.vfs­france.co.in or through the call-centres:

Students, artists and scientists (long/short stay) need no appointment through VFS. They should apply with prior appointment to the Cultural Section, 2 Aurangzeb Road, New Delhi, on Monday and Thursday (2-5 pm) and obtain a NOC from the Cultural Section to apply directly to the embassy. On receipt of a No Objection Certificate (NOC), applicant should apply directly on Wednesday only.

All applications for DOM - TOM which include French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Mayotte, Reunion, Wallis & Futuna, Saint Pierre & Miquelon (processing time will be minimum 15 working days), and the African Countries which include Mauritania, Togo, Gabon & Centrafrique (processing time will be minimum 10 working days) will submit their application directly at the French Embassy.

Photograph Details
Applicants must submit latest photographs of size & specifications as mentioned below:
Photo must have been taken within the last six months.
Submit one extra photo stapled or glued to the application form.
The size of the photo should be 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms with facehead centered in the frame. The facehead (measured from top of hair to bottom of chin) should measure about 3 cms. The photo must be full-face front view facing the camera preferable with ears exposed.

Face should cover about 70-80 percent of photo area. Photo MUST be in color with white or light background. Dark, busy, or patterned backgrounds are not acceptable. Sunglasses are not acceptable unless worn for medical reasons (an eye patch).
Wearing traditional facemask or veil which distracts the adequate identification is not allowed.
Staple or glue one photo to the application form in the given space. If photo is stapled, position the pins as far as possible from the face.
The above instructions must be followed carefully. If photo submitted does not meet these requirements the application will be considered incomplete.
