Note: The above fees are applicable to applicants applying in person at the Canadian High" Commission. This is payable in Canadian Dollars or equivalent Indian Rupees by Demand draft or Certified Cheque in favour of "Canadian High Commission" OR "Receiver General for Canada" payable at New Delhi. A fee of Rs. 56.00 per person for bank services related to the handling of visa is also payable in Cash at the High Commission. In case an applicant is applying by mail, a separate Demand Draft of Rs. 56.00 in favour of "Bank of America" payable at New Delhi should also be enclosed along with the above mentioned fee.

Who can Apply?
This visa is applicable to applicants who wish to visit canada for a temporary purpose, such as tourism, visiting family or friends, or business trips. Those wishing to study or work temporarily in Canada will also need a study permit or work permit. It is strongly recommended that the applicant must contact the visa office prior to submitting the application, to see if he/ she need to fill out any additional forms or provide any additional documents.

Type B
He/ she got married or entered into a common-law relationship before the age of 22 and, since becoming a spouse or a common law partner, has been continuously enrolled and is in attendance as a full­ time student in a post-secondary institution accredited by the government authority; and depended substantially on the financial support of a parent OR he/ she is 22 years of age or older and, since before the age of 22, has been continuously enrolled and in attendance as a full-time student in a post-secondary institution accredited by the government authority; and depended substantially on the financial support of a parent.

Important Information for visitors
A valid temporary resident visa is not a guarantee to entry into, Canada; upon arrival, an officer at the port of entry will decide whether the applicant meet the requirements for admission or not. In case, there has been a change in circumstances between the date of applicant's application and his/her arrival in Canada or if subsequent information is given which was not originally available to the visa office, the applicant may be refused entry.

A visa may be for a single entry, for multiple entries or for transit purposes.
A single entry visa allows the applicant to enter Canada once. This visa may be used for repeated entries into Canada from USA or St. Pierre and Miquelon provided the holder does not enter another country.

A Multiple entry visa allows the applicant to enter Canada from any country multiple times during the validity of the visa.

A transit visa is required for travel through Canada to another country by those persons who need a temporary resident visa and whose flight will stop in Canada for less than 48 hours.

A child applicant who has attained the age of 18 years or above must complete his/her own application. Family members of any applicant are the immediate members of family. Spouse or common ­law partner and dependent children are family members. Dependent children may be the applicant's own children or those of his/her spouse or of the common-law partner. A common law partner is a person of the opposite sex or same sex, who is currently cohabiting and has cohabited in a conjugal relationship with the applicant for a period of at least one year. Child must meet the requirements of type A, B or C below to be considered as a dependent child:

Type C
He/ she is 22 years of age or older, has depended substantially on the financial support of a parent since before attaining the age of 22 and is unable to provide for him/herself due to a medical condition.
In some cases the applicant will require a medical examination. If a medical examination is required and the same has not been obtained prior to applying, the applicant will be informed by an officer who will send instructions on how to proceed.
Temporary residents are not allowed to work or study in Canada unless authorized to do so. A temporary resident may take a study up to 6 months duration without having to obtain a study permit. In such cases the applicant must include full details of the proposed work or study in his/her application.

Type A He/ she is less than 22 years in age and is single, i.e. not married and not in a common-law relationship.

Letter from employer/ school which indicates that the applicant/ s have been granted leave

Paid Representatives
A person/ agent charging a fee to represent the applicant after obtaining authorization from the applicant.
Authorized representatives are:
Immigration consultants [Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC)].
Lawyers (members of Canadian provincial or territorial law society and students-at-law under their supervision).
Notaries (members of the Chambre des notaires du Quebec and students-at-law under their supervision).
Use a Representative Form [IMM 5476] as per Annexure CAN-II needs to be filled by the applicant.
Dependent children aged 18 years or older are required to complete their own copy of this form if representative is conducting business on their behalf. Only one representative can be appointed for each application.

If a paid representative is not a member of one of the designated bodies, the application will be returned
