Provincial Nomination

Most of the provinces in Canada have agreement with the Canadian Government allowing them to playa more direct role in selecting immigrants who wish to settle in that province.

One must first apply to the province where they wish to settle. The application will be considered by the province based on their immigration needs and the applicant's genuine intention to settle there.

Provincial Nominees must complete the provincial nomination process, before applying to Canada Immigration.

The following are the Provinces of Canada:

Alberta
Manitoba
Newfoundland and Labrador
Prince Edward Island
Yukon
British Columbia
New Brunswick
Nova Scotia
Saskatchewan

Note: After being nominated by a province, one has to make a separate application to CIC for permanent residence. ACIC officer will assess the application based on Canadian immigration rules.
Provincial Nominees are not assessed on the six selection factors of the Federal Skilled Workers Program.
