To be eligible under this category one must have: Sufficient business experience. Substantial minimum net worth to the tune of at latest C$ 800,000/ Ability to invest substantial sums of money i.e. at least C$ 400,000/- The $400,000 investment is administered by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and is fully guaranteed by the Canadian provinces, that the use of this investment will be to create jobs and help their economies grow. CIC returns $400,000 investment, without interest, after a period of approximately five years and two months from the time of payment.
The term Sufficient Business Experience means, a minimum of two years of experience consisting of: (a) two one-year periods of experience in the management of a qualifying business and the control of a percentage of equity of the qualifying business during the period beginning five years before the date of application for a permanent resident visa and ending on the day a determination is made in respect of the application; (b) two one-year periods of experience in the management of at least five full-time job equivalents per year in a business. during the period beginning five years before the date of application for a permanent resident visa and ending on the day a determination is made in respect of the application, or
(c) a combination of a one-year period of experience described in subparagraph (a) and a one-year period of experience described in subparagraph (b) above.
