Applicant under this category can settle in Belgium without being gainfully employed on a condition that the applicant should have sufficient means of subsistence.

Documents required
Two copies of duly completed and signed visa application Forms. 
Two passport size photos of the applicant.
Valid passport of the applicant with validity of at least 12 months.
A medical certificate, (see Annexure BEL-III) obtained from the doctor designated by the Belgian embassy or consulate, dated and not older than 6 months from the date of application.

Police clearance Certificate of the applicant which should not be older than 6 months from the date of application and covering the period of previous 5 years. This certificate is required only for that applicant whose age is more than 18 years at the time of application.
Proof of sufficient means of subsistence that will allow the applicant to live in Belgium without the need to get engaged in any sort of gainful employment.
Proof that the income and funds of the applicant can be transferred to Belgium.
Serious character references from trustworthy persons residing in Belgium.
Proof of applicant's ties with Belgium.

Note:
Official documents issued in India or elsewhere must be legalised.
Documents issued in India in a language other than Dutch, English, French or German must be translated by a sworn translator.
The documents listed above are only the basic documents to be submitted. Additional documents may be requested by the embassy or consulate.
The applicant must report in person to the municipal authority at the place of his/her residence in Belgium within 8 days of the applicant's arrival in Belgium.
