Documents Required
. Duly completed and signed, visa application Form.
. Two passport size photos of the applicant.
. Valid passport of tl1e applicant which is valid for at least 3 months after the expiry of the visa.
. Documents to prove the purpose of visit:
A document from the institution or company where the placement will take place, giving a clear indication of the aim and duration of the placement, whether or not the applicant will be paid and whether or not any other costs, such as food and accommodation, will be borne by the institution or company.
In some cases, applicant on an internship is required to have a work permit. To check whether this applies to the applicant and to apply for a work permit if necessary, the institution or company in which applicant's placement is to take place must contact its regional employment service (VDAB, FOREM or ORBEM/BGDA). . Documents to prove that the applicant has sufficient means of subsistence, covering both the duration of the stay and the return journey. Such as:
Applicant's own financial means (e.g. hotel reservation, cash, cheques and credit cards accepted in Belgium, an employment contract, bank statements, proof of enrolment on the trade register and/ or of professional activity) OR Guarantor's pledge of financial support.
. Proof of applicant's valid travel insurance policy, either indi­vidual or group, covering the cost of repatriation on medical grounds, urgent medical treatment and/ or urgent hospital treatment.
Note: As a rule, applicant must take an international insurance policy in India. If the host takes an insurance policy for the applicant, the same must be done in his/her own country of residence. To find out which insurance policies are accepted, applicant is advised to contact the Belgian embassy or consulate.
The insurance must be valid throughout all of the Schengen countries and must cover the whole duration of the stay. The minimum cover is 30,000 euro.
