Who can Apply?
Aspiring applicant who intends traveling Bangladesh for the purpose of employment.
Documents Required
There are two methods of obtaining the work permit in Bangladesh. In the first method the employer in Bangladesh applies to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) in Bangladesh along with the required documents and obtains work permit for the applicant. Once the sponsor obtains the approval from the MEA, the applicant in India can apply to the High Commission and obtain the work permit. Under the second method the applicant him/herself makes this application through the High Commission from India. Under both the method following documents will be required. The only difference is of the processing time required by the High Commission.
Duly filled and signed visa application Form (see Annexure BG-I) in duplicate.
2 recent passport size photographs (size 37mm x 37mm) duly affixed at the space provided for on the application form valid passport of the applicant.
Copy of the offer/ agreement/ contract between the applicant and the employer in Bangladesh.
A letter of financial guarantee from the employer in Bangladesh.
Copy of advertisement given in the local newspaper of Bangladesh by Bangladeshi company for recruitment of new employees.
Company profile of Bangladeshi company and details of present manpower.
If employed with NGO:
Appointment letter of the NGO concerned duly attested by the NGO Affairs Bureau-Dhaka.
If going to join a missionary:
Appointment letter by the church along with a No Objection letter from the concerned ministry.
Note: Initially applicant will be issued with a work permit bearing a validity of 30 days. The actual period of stay of the applicant in Bangladesh will only be determined by the authorities at the port of entry upon arrival and entry into Bangladesh by the applicant.
