Who Can Apply?
. A person who­ has no close family ties outside Australia; and has a brother, sister, child or step equivalent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

.Conditions

. The applicant or his / her spouse (if any) does not have a near relative, who is a parent, brother or sister, or a minor child who is not in his / her daily care and control, or an adult child over 18 who is not dependent on him / her, or a step equivalent of the above residing in the same country (other than Australia); and the applicant and his / her spouse (if any) together do not have more than three near relatives residing overseas; and

. the applicant and his / her spouse (if any) have not had long contact with such near relatives for a reasonable period before the  application, and . if the applicant is a child under 18, who was adopted overseas, his adoptive parent has spent the required 12 months living overseas prior to the adoption visa application.

. the applicant must also be sponsored by a near relative who: is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen; was not granted a visa on the basis of being a remaining relative; has not previously sponsored / nominated a remaining relative.

Documents Required

. Duly completed and signed "Application for migration to Australia by other family members" Form 470F (See Annexure Australia XXX).

.Duly completed and signed "Sponsorship for migration to Australia" Form 40 (See Annexure Australia XXXI). (This form must be provided by the sponsor to the applicant for submission with the application).

. Duly completed and signed "Details of child or other dependent family members aged 18 years or over" From 47 A (if required). (See Annexure Australia XXII).

. Required application fee.

. Original Birth Certificate for each applicant. If an applicant does not have a Birth Certificate, a School Certificate bearing the date of birth will be accepted. Applicants born before 1940 who are unable to provide either a Birth Certificate or a School Certificate must submit an affidavit with birth details.

. If married, original marriage certificate.

. If divorced, intermediate and final divorce decree, or legal separation agreement including court decision on child custody where applicable (or decree nisi in case of the sponsor). If the applicant or his sponsor are widowed, death certificate for the applicant or his sponsor’s deceased spouse.

. Form 47 A must be completed for each child or other dependent family member aged 18 years and over.

. The sponsor's birth certificate. If the sponsor does not have a Birth Certificate, a School Certificate bearing the date of birth will be accepted. Persons born before 1940 who are unable to provide either a birth certificate or a school certificate must submit an affidavit with birth details.

. Evidence that the sponsor is able to fulfill the sponsorship undertaking (refer to Form 40 Part I) (e.g. latest two year notice of tax assessment; current pay slips or other satisfactory evidence of alternative income; evidence of major assets, including bank or similar accounts, details of real estate / motor vehicle ownership).

. Evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent resident status of the sponsor (e.g. Australian citizenship certificate or copy of passport pages which show identification page, permanent visa and any arrival / departure stamps for Australia).

. Evidence of applicant's relationship to all his relatives (parents, siblings, children) in Australia. He must provide birth, marriage or school certificates which demonstrate the relationship between him and his relatives in Australia;

. Death Certificates for any relatives (parents, siblings, and children) who are deceased. If he does not have a Death Certificate for a deceased relative, he must submit a statement setting out when the relative died, cause of death and why he is unable to provide a Death Certificate.

. 4 passport size photographs for all applicants.

If served in the armed forces of any country, including India, certified copies of military service record or discharge papers.
