Who Can Apply?
This category of visa is issued to all those persons who want to visit Australia to undertake work for a religious organization that directly serves the religious objectives of the organization along with their spouse and dependent children.
The religious worker from India must have suitable qualifications and experience, and must directly serve an organisation's religious objectives. The religious organisation must meet the requirements to gain sponsorship, and the religious worker must meet the requirements to be granted this visa.
This visa is not intended for people who wish simply to undertake work for a religious organisation. It must be for work that specifically requires a religious worker and not merely a religious adherent.
Applicant would usually need to be 18 years or older to apply for the visa.
. Four (4) recent passport size photos for each person included in the application.
. Valid passport with two unused visa pages for each person included in the application.
. Sponsorship Approval letter from the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs.
. A written undertaking by the religious organization to meet all travel expenses to a place in a foreign country (out of Australia) on the expiry of the sponsorship or the expiry of visa, whichever is earlier, and not to seek to recover from the applicant any expenditure by the religious organization in relation to his travel to or from Australia, or in relation to financial support to him in Australia.
. A clear description of occupation and contact details from employer is to be included in the application form. Occupation titles such as "business" and "service" are not acceptable.
. Documentary proof regarding current employment.
. Documentary evidence of sufficient funds to support the applicant and any of accompanying family members for the duration of their stay in Australia.
. Copy of Marriage Certificate / Birth Certificate (for child) if there are any dependants to accompany the applicant.
. Previous passports, if any.
Note - Applicants traveling on a Tibetan Certificate of Identity (COI) must have a valid re entry visa to India.
