Who can apply?
This visa is issued to persons wanting to visit Australia in connection with their business requirements. It could be for meeting some existing business partner or some meeting relating to their employer's business.

This visa is intended for:
. Business people who wish to:
Explore business opportunities in Australia
Conduct business negotiations, site visit, equipment inspections;

Sign business contracts; or
Attend conferences or meetings in relation to their field of employment; and,

.Amanteur or professional sports people, including players, coaches and umpires, who will engage win sporting competition or training for a short duration;

Public lectures; and
Model$ and mannequins 'under contract for advertising or promotional purposes.
One should not apply for a Short Stay Business visa if he / she is travelling to Australia:

as a tourist;
as a religious worker;
to study;
to work as an entertainer, with the exception of promotional tours;
to work as a medical practitioner; or
to seek medical treatment.

Conditions

. Personal attributes and business background of the applicant should be relevant to the nature of proposed business in Australia.

. There should be a demonstrated need for the applicant to be in Australia for business purposes.

. Adequacy of funds to support applicant's stay in Australia should be evidenced.

. No business-related employment or training activity be undertaken, so as to adversely effect Australian c

. Short term business visa is not available to a tourist, religious worker, an entertainer, a student, a medical practitioner or for medical treatment.

Documents Required

. Completed application form [456]. See Annexure Australia V.

. One recent passport size photo of each applicant (four photos if the applicant is required to undergo medical examination).

. Valid passport with two unused visa pages for each person included in the application.   

. Bank draft for the non refundable visa application fee.  A separate bank draft payable to "TT Services" for the non refundable IT Services fee.   

. Invitation letter from the Australian company / organisation

. Support letter from the employer stating job designation, monthly salary and a statement advising if they are sponsoring applicant's visit financially.

. Or evidence of the applicant's business if he/she is self employed.

. Details of proposed activities in Australia.

. Travel itinerary and flight details.

. Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the visit either from the applicant or his / her sponsor in India or Australia (e.g. bank statements and credit card statements showing transactions and credit limit for the last three months). Photocopies of credit cards are not acceptable. 

. Evidence of funds / assets held by the applicant in' India.

. A clear description of the applicant's occupation and complete contact details of his / her employer are to be included in the application form.

Note - Occupation titles such as 'business' and 'service' are not acceptable.

. Children under 18 years travelling without one or both parents must provide form 1229 duly completed by the non accompanying parent / s authorising the child's travel to Australia. (See Annexure Australia III). This form must be accompanied by evidence of the parent's identity (for example, the passport).

In the case of children travelling or staying with non relatives, they should also provide the full name, nationality and the date of birth of the person the child will be staying or travelling with.

. Previous passports, if any.

. Rest of the documents remain same as applicable in tourist visa.
