What is Small Scale Industries (SSI) ?
"Any industrial unit in which the investment in plant and machinery does not exceed Rs. 1 crore is a small scale industrial unit. This does not include cost of land and building and some equipments for quality control, pollution control etc. Within the small scale, a sector is defined as Tiny Sector in which the investment in plant and machinery should not exceed beyond Rs. 25lakhs. Small Scale Service Business enterprise is defined as Tiny Sector in which the investment excluding land and building is upto Rs. 10 lakhs."
