THE FULBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIPS PROGRAMME
Fullbright Master's Fellowships for Leadership Development
The Fulbright Master's Fellowship for Leadership Development is designed for outstanding Indians, preferably in the age group of 25-30 years, to pursue a Master's degree program at select U.S. colleges and universities in the area of Public Administration, Economics, Communication, Studies and Environment.

Eligibility
(a) Applicants should have completed an equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor's degree from a recognised Indian university with at least 55% marks. Applicant's should either possess a four-year Bachelor's degree is of less than four years duration.

(b) have at least three years full time (paid or voluntary) professional or work experience relevant to their proposed field of study.

(c) be preferably in the age group of 25-30 years

(d) demonstrate experience in leadership and community service. They are committed to return and contribute to their communities. The fellowships, for one to two years, provide full funding or be in combination with tuition waivers or assistantships. The scholars will have to travel on J-1 visas and will be subject to J- Visa regulations.

The fellowship provides the following benefits, through full funding or in combination with tuition waivers or assistantships:
(i) J-1 Visa support

(ii) Round trip airfare from fellow's home city to their host institution in the United States

(iii) Tuition and any additional mandatory university fees

(iv) Medical insurance coverage as per U.S. Govt guidelines

(v) Monthly allowance for professional enrichment activities

(vii) Pre-academic English language training (if necessary).

Selection is made on the basis of open competition. All eligible applicants are reviewed by a panel of specialists. Short listed candidates are interviewed at the regional level and, if recommended, are required to

appear for an interview with the USEFI National Selection Committee in New Delhi.

2. PARTNERSHIP FOR LEARNING UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES (PLUS) PROGRAM
The PLUS program is a U.S. Govt. sponsored scholarship program that offers scholarships to outstanding Indian students who exhibit academic excellence, leadership potential, and an aptitude for cultural exchange. Designed for college students in liberal arts, humanities and social sciences, the PLUS program is especially targeted at highly motivated Indian students who belong to under served and or disadvantaged socio­economic communities and regions that traditionally may not have access to a U.S. Bachelor of Arts degree from select U.S. Colleges and university, introduces participants to American Culture, society and values.

3. INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM (IFP)
The International Fellowship program is designed to support post­graduate study of such candidates who may not otherwise have access to higher education. Women, Scheduled castes, Scheduled tribes, other backward classes and physically disadvantaged candidates who are academically bright and possess potential to use their education to serve their community and nation are selected for the fellowship. Fellows can enroll in a master's or doctoral level program in any academic discipline of study consistent with the interests of the Ford Foundation.
