Graduate Managament Education
With the primary objective of educating managers, graduate schools of
business organize their curricula around three basic elements: the core, the concentration and electives. The core courses provide an introduction to the fundamental concepts and techniques of management. The field of concentration is intended to provide advanced knowledge and intensive preparation in the areas of the student's major interest. It is flexible and does not have to be decided upon before entering the MBA program. Electives permit the student to choose courses of special interest from a variety of areas within the curriculum. The emphasis in an MBA program is on integrating the various aspects of managerial responsibilities and techniques to build a solid base for continued learning as a practising manager.
