GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test)
The GMAT a computer adaptive test, is designed to help graduate schools of business assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management. It does not test specific knowledge attained through college course-work or achievement in any particular subject area. It benchmarks students from around the world.

It measures a student's general verbal, quantitative, analytical writing assessment skills that are developed over a long period of time and are associated with success in the first year of study at graduate schools of management all of which indicate an aptitude for management studies.

The quantitative sections of the test measure basic mathematical skills, understanding of elementary concepts and the ability to reason quantitatively, solve quantitative problems and interpret graphic data. The variable sections of the test measure the ability to understand and evaluate what is read and to recognise basic conventions of standard written English as well as advanced comprehension skills and the ability to grasp and analyse data. The GMAT consists of seven separately timed sections each containing multiple choice questions. One of the seven sections contains I trial questions needed for pretesting and equating but they are not identified and appear in varying locations within the test. You should therefore do your best on all sections. The total testing time is 3½ hours. Score range is: 200-800 and the score remains valid for a period of 5 years. The GMA T is held six days a week for three weeks every month. In India, tests are conducted four times a year.
