Costs of studying and living:
If you are not eligible for a student grant and you do not have a scholarship, you must ensure that you have sufficient means to finance your costs of studying and living.

Admissions and application
International Bachelor's Programmes
Students who wish to follow an International Bachelor's programme should apply directly to University College, Utrecht or Admissions Office, UU. For information about the entry requirements for UU International Bachelor's programmes, you may consult at: www.uu.nl > English> Studying> Programmes in English.

Note: The information provided in the rest of this chapter only applies to UU International Master's programmes.

International Master's programmes
To qualify for admission, you must:
-have completed an appropriate undergraduate university programme
-be proficient in English
-demonstrate a high level of motivation and commitment

-dispose of sufficient funds to finance your studies
-comply with the entrance requirements regarding previous education as mentioned in the teaching and examination regulations of the programme (these are available from the institute offering the Master's programme in question). The specific entrance requirements differ per programme.
-  pay the application fee

Application fee
Applicants with foreign qualification must include a non-refundable application fee of € 50. Applications will not be considered without the required fee. The application fee is not applicable to:

-students who want to apply for an LLM programme
-students who want to apply for Animal Pathology, Laboratory
Animal Sciences, Veterinary Anesthesiology and Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics.
-students with Dutch qualifications
-exchange students registered at Utrecht University
-refugee students.

Visa
Utrecht University will, if necessary, help in arranging your visa, using an effective and efficient priority procedure that saves a lot of time and trouble. To be eligible for this procedure, you will be required to submit a copy of your passport, proof of health insurance and proof of sufficient funds. Once you have been accepted for a Master's programme, you will be asked if you require any assistance in obtaining a visa. For more information and deadlines, you may visit www.uu.nl/visa.

Proficiency in English
The Master's programmes are taught in English. If your first language is English and/or if you have a university degree in English Literature, you will be exempted from providing an English language test score. You are considered to be a native speaker of English if you are from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, USA or South Africa and the language in which you gained all your qualifications was English. Application who have completed three years of study at a Dutch university are considered to be proficient in English and do not need to provide an English language test score.

All other applicants, including those who hold a Dutch HBO diploma (diploma of higher professional education), must provide proof of the proficiency in English. To do so, you are required to take one of the following English language tests either in your own country or in the Netherlands.

.IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
.TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign Language)
.Cambridge EFL Examinations

Minimum English language test scores include:
IEL TS: 6.5 (and 6.0 for Writing module)
TOEFL paper test: 580
TOEFL computer test: 237
TOEFL (Internet Test: 93)
Cambridge EFL Advanced English: B
Cambridge EFL Proficiency in English: C
