Visa Decisions

The supporting documents requested are to assist the visa officer in making a decision as to the genuineness of your application. In this regard the visa officer will be looking for the following evidence, among other things:

. that you show a reasonable academic performance to date and will therefore be able to participate fully in the course you intend to pursue in Ireland.

. that the course chosen is relevant to previous academic qualification or work experience.

. that you primary purpose in travelling to Ireland is to pursue an academic course with a view to furthering your career and that you intend to return to India on completion of your course.

 . that you have sufficient funds to be able to support and accommodate yourself and pay for your studies in Ireland for the duration of the course. You may note that while full time students are allowed to undertake part time work, potential earnings will not be taken into account when assessing the application.

What to submit
Below is a list of items that should be submitted along with the standard visa application form. Please note that failure to submit any of the items listed may lead to a .delay in processing that application or a visa refusal. All original documents will be returned to the applicant within one to three weeks of submission. Two copies of items of all documents in items 4 to 13 must be submitted. Failure to supply copies could lead to a delay in visa processing.

1. Standard visa application forms are available from the Embassy or can. be downloaded from the Embassy website at www.irelandinindia.com. You should submit three copies of the form. Ensure all questions on the form are answered fully.

2. An additional student visa application form must be completed by applicants for student visas. This form is available from the Embassy or can be downloaded from the website at www.irelandinindia.com. You should submit two copies of the form. Please ensure all questions on the forms are answered fully.

3. Three recent passport sized photographs, one affixed to each copy of the standard visa application form.

4. The applicant should hold a valid passport with no less than 6 month validity from the date of the course completion. At the time of your application, you should submit two copies of your COMPLETE passport including all blank pages. If you have evidence of travel abroad on a previous expired passport you may submit two copies of this passport also.

5. Original Acceptance letter and confirmation of fees paid from the Education institute for course fees of more than EUR 6,500, it is not expected that you pay more than' this prior to visa approval. The confirmation of fees paid letter should include a statement that the student has full private medical insurance taken out on behalf of the student by the college (if this is not the case, you must submit a certificate of private insurance taken out by the you in your own country prior to travel. This does not need to be presented until your passport is sent for visa stamping.

6. You should provide details of any family members currently residing in Ireland and/or the UK. For this purpose family members include first cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and grandparents.

7. Educational Qualifications
You must submit the following original educational certificates:
Year 10 Certificate
- Year 10 Result Sheet
- Year 12 Certificate
- Year 12 Result Sheet
If you hold a third level qualification:
- Degree/Diploma certificate or provisional certificate if the original is not a available yet
- Degree/Diploma mark sheets

8. An English language qualifications (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS) must be submitted. The only exception to this is where a student is applying straight from Year 12 exam. A guideline of the scores required is as follows:

Financial Support
9. You must submit evidence that you have sufficient funds to pay your fees and Support yourself during your stay in Ireland. If you are being sponsored you should submit a letter from your sponsor detailing the nature of the support e.g. payment of fees, accommodation expenses, and maintenance of Ireland.

10. You must submit evidence of income in the form of the most recent  income tax return of your sponsor.

11. You should include a brief financial statement from a Chartered  Accountant giving details of liquid assets available.

12. You should submit proof of all liquid assets. For the purpose of  assessment the following are deemed to be liquid assets.
- National Savings Certificate
- KVPs
- Fixed Deposit slips (where a large volume of fixed deposits are held, there is no need to photocopy all of them. The originals should be presented at the Embassy for examination. They will then be returned.
- Mutual Fund.

13. Bank loan: An education loan from a bank may be used as partial evidence of funds. However, bank loan should not be the sole means of paying for the course fees and living expenses in Ireland. You must submit other evidence of funds and evidence that you have the resource to repay the loan.

14. If you are currently employed, please include a reference from your current employer giving details of your job title and responsibilities.

Important: This note is intended as a guideline only and does not limit the discretion of the visa officer in dealing with individual applications. Additional documents may be requested, Production of those documents listed does not guarantee that a visa will be issued.

Travel tickets should not be booked or paid for by applicants until their applications have been approved.
