Geographically, Hong Kong lies along the south east coast of China, at the mouth of the Canton River and comprises Hong Kong island, Kowloon Peninsula, the New Territories and over 230 small islands. It occupies an area of 1071 sq. km. Victoria is the Capital of Hong Kong. Its population is around 7.4m. The population is almost entirely Chinese with a sprinkling of other nationalities.
