Admission information

The particular institution to which a foreign student applies, first reviews the student's academic background to determine whether he/she is likely to succeed in its program. When the student is admitted, the institute sends a letter that helps the student to apply for a student visa at the French consulate of the home country.

Registration for postgraduate studies at a university is subject to acceptance of the case submitted by the foreign applicant. Whatever the formal qualifications already possessed by the candidate, admission is by no means automatic but is entirely a matter for an individual decision by the university. This being so, and since different universities' requirements governing enrolment for various courses may not be the same, a candidate could well be accepted by one university and not by another.

However, there are special procedures for international admissions to the Licence (year I, year 2), to the first year of medical education (PCEMI), and to programs in law. These procedures are conducted by the French embassy in individual countries. Students who are interested in these programs should contact the embassy. They should submit preliminary application for admission as early as November 15 of the year preceding their intended enrolment.
