Grading by Australian universities Students are graded on individual units or subjects leading to a final award. Australian universities normally use one of two systems: AN ALPHA SYSTEM (A,B,C etc.) with plus or minus variables e.g. A=90% or higher, B=65%-70%, C=55% approx.
Alternatively they may give descriptive grades of which there are four; High Distinction (HD), Distinction (D), Credit (C), and Pass (P), HD will equate to an A- A+ and so on..
