(i) MHRD-GATE Scholarships
Eligibility: The candidate should have qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and secure admission in an Indian University or Institutes of Science or Technology.

In case of scholarship for Ph.D. degree in Engineering and Science, the admission and award of GATE scholarship is dependent on the rules and regulations of the admission giving Institution

Duration: 4 years. Value: For M.Tech. candidates: RS.9500 p.m. and Without M.Tech Rs.8000 pm. Contingency Grant: A maximum of Rs.20000 p.a. Notification: GATE is advertised in July / September. Last date: As per the Notification

(ii) National Merit Scholarships Scheme
Eligibility: The candidate should

(a) Have obtained 60% or more marks in science and commerce and 55% in humanities,

(b) Not have received any other merit scholarships / stipend for source of study,

(c) Be studying in recognised institutions,

(d) Parents income from all source not exceeding Rs. 1 lakhs per annum for all categories

Number of Fellowships: 17000 (varies from year to year). Value: Rs.750 p.m.
