Junior Reserach Fellowship Scheme in Forensic Science
Junior Research Fellowship Scheme in Forensic Science in the Directorate offers 12 Junior Research fellowships for research in the following disciplines: (a) Forensic Chemical Sciences (Chemistry, Narcotic Drugs, Explosive, Toxicology, Pharmacology etc.), (b) Forensic Biological Sciences (Ink Analysis, Paper/Fibre Analysis, Computer / Cyber Forensic, Handwriting Identification, Credit Card etc.)
The value of each Fellowship shall be Rs.8/000/ - p.m. for the initial period of two years and Rs.9,000/ - p.m. for the third year. In addition, contingency grant of Rs.5,000 / - p.a. will be sanctioned for each Fellowship. However HRA and medical benefits, as admissible to the Central Government employed are allowed to JRFs.

The fellowship amount will be taken as the basic pay for this purpose. The fellowship shall be tenable for maximum period of three years. However extension beyond 3 years for one more year may also be considered and granted under exceptional circumstances
The fellow will have to get himself registered for Ph.D. Degree within a period of one year after the award of the Fellowship failing which the fellowship is liable to be terminated with costs

Eligibility: The Fellowships are open to Indian Nationals, preferably below the age of 30 years, who have obtained 1st class (marks 60% and above) in Masters Degree in anyone of the following subjects, Physics / Chemistry / Biochemistry / Anthropology / Zoology / Molecular Biology/Mathematics (with Physics as one of the subjects at the Bachelors degree subjects whichever is the essential qualification for the award of Ph.D Degree of a recognised Indian University
Reservation: Twenty percent of the total number of fellowships is reserved for suitable Schedule Castel Schedule Tribe/OBC candidates

Centres for Attachment: Fellowship in forensic Science will be awarded only to those candidates who ate willing to pursue research work leading to Ph.D degree at any of the following laboratories of this Directorate in the subjects mentioned against them:
