	Eligibility: 1. Post-graduation in social sciences with at least 55% marks 2. Candidate must have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship in Social Sciences held by UGC/CSIR 3. Applicant must be registered for Ph.D. or should be able to complete the registration formalities within six months of joining the fellowship 4. Selected scholars (for institutional fellowship) will have to be registered under the supervision of one of the faculty members of the respective institutes. Other things being equal preference will be given to scheduled caste/tribe candidates

Age: Maximum 35 years as on the specified date (Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and women candidates)

Value:
(a) Selected candidates are paid a fellowship amount of Rs. 2,500 per month for the first two years and subsequently Rs. 2,800 per month plus Rs. 2,500 per year as contingency Grant, Fellowship is available for a maximum period of 4 years

b) Under the Salary Protected Scheme, employed scholar is get his/ her salary for two years plus one time contingency Grant @ of Rs. 2,500 P.A. The duration of this fellowship is two years
