(1) One-year Post M.Sc. Diploma courses in Radiological Physics
(Candidates are trained in the safe use of Radiation & Radioisotopes in Medicine, Industry, Agriculture and Research. The course contents cover Radiation Physics, Radiation Chemistry, Radiation Biology, Electronics and Instrumentation, Statistics, Computational Methods, Application of Radioisotopes in Medicine Hospitals, Industries and other Divisions of BARC)

Eligibility: Master's degree in Physics with 60% marks. Age limit: Not more than 35 years
Medium of instruction:
English. Value: During the period of training the candidates receive a stipend of Rs. 1,500 p.m. No stipend is admissible to the sponsored candidates.

During the period of training the candidates are not allowed to hold any other job or join any other training programme
University Fees:
Candidates are required to pay a sum of Rs. 5,000 to the University of Mumbai towards registration tuition and examination fees
Accommodation:
The trainees may apply for hostel accommodation in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Training School Hostel at Anushaktinagar. The trainees will have to pay for their boarding and lodging in the hostel
Bond:
Candidates selected for the course are required to execute a bond in the prescribed form to complete the training course. In the event of their leaving the course before the completion of the stipulated period of one year, they need to refund the entire amount of stipend received by them with interest thereon

Award of Diploma:
Every successful candidate is awarded the Diploma in Radiological Physics by the University of Mumbai at the end of the course. The Diploma qualifies the candidates to be employed as a Medical Physicists/Radiological Safety Officers in medical and industrial institutions handling radioisotopes and ionizing radiations

Selection Procedure:
Short-listed candidates are called for an interview at Mumbai. Selected candidates have to go through a medical examination before they start the course.

(2) One-year Orientation Course in Nuclear Science & Engineering. Subjects: Nuclear Science & Engineering. Eligibility:
Physics: Candidates should have M.Sc. degree in Physics/ Applied Physics with an average aggregate marks in Postgraduate course not less than 60%. Should have passed B.Sc. degree in first class with Physics/ Applied Physics as major/one of the subjects. Mathematics up to B.Sc. at subsidiary/ancillary level is essential
Chemistry: Candidates should have M.Sc. degree in Chemistry with average aggregate marks, in Postgraduate course, not less than 60%. Should have passed B.Sc. degree in first class with Chemistry as major / one of the subjects. Mathematics up to XII Standard or equivalent and Physics up to B.Sc. at subsidiary/ancillary level are essential

Biology-Radiobiology: Candidates should have MSc. degree in Biochemistry /Biosciences (Botany/Zoology included/Life Sciences/ Biotechnology /Microbiology with average aggregate marks, in postgraduate course, not less than 60%. Should have passed B.Sc. in first class. Physics or Chemistry as a subsidiary subject in B.Sc. is desirable
Engineering: Candidates should have B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) degree from Faculty of Engineering/Technology with aven1.ge aggregate marks in all years/ semesters not less than 60% in any of the branches viz. mechanical/ Electrical/Electronics / Computer / lnstrumentation/ Chemical/Metallurgy
Age: Less than 26 years as on the specified date (5-year relaxation in case of SC/ST candidates and 3-year in case of DBC). Stipend: available
Selection Procedure: A written test is conducted at the following centres during month of May at Allahabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Calcutta, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram, followed by an Interview which is held at Mumbai during the month of August
Note: The qualifying marks specified for each discipline should be excluding grace marks, if any, awarded. The trainees are absorbed on the completion of the training
