offers Dr. K.S. Krishnan DAE Research Fellowships to Indian Nationals who have successfully completed the GATE/UGC-CSIR examinations for pursuing doctoral work under Dr. K.S. Krishnan Fellowships. These prestigious Fellowships are awarded for a maximum period of 5 years with the objective to encourage and support talented Science and Engineering graduates to pursue research in their chosen fields leading to a Ph.D. degree

It does not contain the heart and lungs which are contained in the thorax. In mammals, the thorax and abdomen are separated by the diaphragm. The abdomen of insects and other arthropods is the hind region of the body

Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Electronics & Communications, Other branches of Engineering, Life & Medical Sciences Food & Agricultural Science/Engineering, Radiation & Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, Computer Sciences

Eligibility: The Fellowships are available to those candidates who have already passed GATE / UGC-CSIR examinations and obtained one of the following Qualifications/Degree. For JRF: M.Sc. / B.Tech / B.E.B. Pharm / MBBS(lst Class with 60% aggregate marks)
For SRF: ME / M.Tech / M.Pharm / M.D. (1st class with 60% aggregate marks)
Age: For JRF : 24 years as on 1st July (Age is relaxed up to 5 years for SC / ST candidates)

Career Development: On completion of Ph.D. Fellows, who are found to have done exceptionally good work and / or in areas of interest to DAE may be considered for absorption in any of the Units of Department of Atomic energy OR be supported in their Post-Doctoral research work for a maximum period of 2 years in other institutions willing to provide them facilities for research. This is done through a further selection process

Value:
(a) Junior Research Fellow: Rs. 2700/- p.m. For First two years and Rs. 3000/- p.m. form third year onward. Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 3200/- p.m. for first two years and Rs. 3500/- from third year onward

(b) In addition to the Fellowship amount, a contingency grant of Rs. 5000/- per annum is made available to the research fellows

(c) The selected fellows are eligible to draw an HRA at an uniform rate of Rs. 450/- p.m. if hostel accommodation is not provided by the institution

(d) medical benefits are as per the rules of the Institution where the fellows are registered to carry out the research work

Screening: Application received are screened and depending on the response, the Screening Committee decides the candidates to be called for interview. An entrance test may be conducted if necessary

Selection: Selection is made on the basis of an interview held in Mumbai

General: Candidates from outstations who are called for interview are paid II class railway fare by the shortest route both ways. Detailed Terms and conditions of Fellowship are communicated only to those candidates who are selected for the award of fellowship
