Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-II, Pusa, New Delhi 110012 (Education Division) conducts a combined examination for the award of ICAR Junior Research
Fellowships
and admission to 100% seats of Master's degree programme at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Central Institute of Fisheries Education & National Dairy Research Institute, 25% seats to State Agricultural Universities & Central Agricultural Universities (CAU, BHU, AMU, and Visva Bharti), and AAIDU in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agri. Engineering, Home Science, Social Sciences, Dairy, Fisheries, Veterinary, and Allied Sciences. Details are also available on ICAR website http://www.icar.orgin.

The Fellowship is at the rate of Rs 8,000 per month for graduates of Veterinary Sciences and Rs 3,600 per month for graduates in other disciplines for a period of two years with a Contingent Grant of R. 6,000 per annum for all. Continuance of Fellowship after 1st year is dependent on maintaining required OGPA as per ICAR guidelines. The admission as well as JRF is given only to those candidates who join the Master's degree programme in the University/institute other than that from where he/she has obtain d the Bachelor's degree except at NDRI, Karnal.
Eligibility -  Only those candidates having their Bachelor's Degree in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Forestry, Agri.

Marketing Banking and Cooperation, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Process & Food Engineering, Computer Science, Basic and allied sciences under 10+ 2 + 4 or 10+ 2+3 are eligible to apply for the Combined Examination for JRF and admission to Master's degree programme as per the norms of participating Universities.
They must have obtained OGPA 6.60/ 10.00 or 3.25/5.00 or 2.6/4.00 for SC/ST or physically handicapped categories. For admission in the subject of Veterinary Sciences, the candidates must have completed B.V. Sc. & A.H. with Internship before the date of registration in the University. He/She should be an Indian National only and should be completing 19 years of age as on 31st August. Candidates likely to appear at the Bachelor's Degree examination are also eligible to apply provisionally but they will have to submit Certificate Provisional Mark Sheet signed by the Registrar of the University of their having completed the degree in all respects on the date of Counseling.

Non-submission of documentary evidence for having completed the Degree at the time of Counselling will disqualify the candidate..Most of the participating Universities/Institutes in this Examination require four years U.G. degree. In few Universities/Institutes, graduates from non­agricultural streams are eligible for admission to Master's Degree programme only in specified subjects and in selected university/institute but for them the duration of Master's Degree programme would be of three years, as 1st year would be for completing remedial courses in Agriculture

No fellowship would be paid during the first year to such candidates.
