Improved Crop Productivity

Transgenic plants having improved crop productivity, in terms of harvest index or biomass production, have also been produced in model plant systems demonstrating the possibility of increasing plant productivity through transgenic approach. Two such examples will be briefly discussed, although the technology has not been commercially utilized so far.
