Explants used for Transformation
The ex plants used for inoculation or cocultivation with Agrobacteriumcarrying the vector, include protoplasts, suspension cultured cells, callus cell clumps (undifferentiated and proembryogenic), thin cell layers (epidermis), tissue slices, whole organ sections (e.g. leaf discs, sections of roots, stems or floral tissues), etc. Wounding and inoculation of whole plants may also be used.
