Preparation of map using the software Mapmaker
Keeping in view the amount of data (~100 individuals/lines, each genotyped with few thousand markers) to be handled for the preparation of a molecular genetic map, computer softwares are used. One such software in common use is MAPMAKER, which makes use of either Haldane's mapping function (no interference is assumed) or Kosambi's mapping function (interference is taken into consideration). Other softwares like LINKAGE were used earlier for the same purpose.
